Should also mention that due to the expansion of Route 66, the usual
parking spot for Mt. Higby is a bit torn up. Plan on parking at
Guida's up the road and walking the pink-dot-on-blue trail to connect
to the Mattabassett. It adds a flat/easy half-mile to the hike.
Happy trails!

There is a sign at Guida's that says that parking is for Guida customers
only. I believe that I remember Bluebird saying that she was told by
Guida's that she couldn't park there. (Or was that Butterfly, I get SO
confused!)
Why don't we park where M&M's Higby clues start?

That's where I'm talking about. The "dirt pull off" is currently
freshly dug up--very soft and deep--and sometimes has heavy equipment
parked on it.
I personally recommend caution as a vehicle could get stuck or be in
the way if work is going on...but it's up to the individual. It's
legal to drive on unless its gated or posted, so whatever.
